PIKA - Pacific International Kayak Association

Introduction to PIKA

  • PIKA was formed in 1997 by a group of avid sea kayakers. Members are enthusiasts living in south-western British Columbia, Canada, and in Northwestern Washington state. Our current membership is in excess of 100 paddlers and growing quickly!
  • Local BC regional trips are organized starting in early March through to October. Trips range from day paddles on the local lakes from Chilliwack to Bunsen, the Harrison or Fraser rivers, and the local inlets.  Longer trips of 3 to 14 days will see groups paddle the Broken Group Islands, the Gulf Islands, The Sunshine Coast, Kyuquot and  Clayoquot Sound areas.
  • Many members have arranged private trips to warmer climates for Winter paddling, such as the recent trip back to the Baja area.
We meet the 2nd Wednesday of each month from Sept to June.
  • Come out and join us and meet someone new to paddle with.We have created a unique identity: to help; to learn; to offer an enriching experience for people wanting to improve their paddling skills and find opportunities to enjoy BC's waterways.
  • Join in--have fun, learn and practice new skills, gain a great outdoor education, join day trips and expeditions and meet new people.
